National Council for Metal Detecting
For over 40 years the NCMD have promoted, protected, and encouraged metal detecting for their members and the wider Metal Detecting Community.
They are formally recognised by the UK Government and play a vital role in
representing members on the creation of or any changes to legislation
that may affect our great hobby.
Membership costs just £8 & includes:
- Insurance cover for commercial rallies/events, private & group digs.
– Public Liability Insurance up to £10m – with £0 excess
– Access to our Major Finds Excavation Fund for help with important finds
– A community forum, get help and advice from other members.
Association for Metal Detecting Sport
The Association for Metal Detecting Sport has been established in order to fill the vacuum that exists between rank and file detectorists and the decision makers that have influence over the hobby. The association will always endeavour to have the best interests of its members at the heart of all its deliberations. By joining AMDS you will be helping to put personal involvement back in the hobby. Membership costs just £5 & includes £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.
National Rural Crime Network
The National Rural Crime Network (NRCN) champions a better understanding of crime in rural areas, and new, effective ways to help to keep rural communities safe – and make them feel safer too.
Portable Antiquities Scheme
The Portable Antiquities Scheme is run by the British Museum and Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales to encourage the recording of archaeological objects found by members of the public in England and Wales.
